WE have been plagued with seconditis this summer but happy to have a couple of winners in the last week.
Last Friday Arigato won at Newmarket July Course partnered by usual jockey Josephine Gordon. They tracked the leader Al Jellaby until taking the lead about a furlong out and kept on well to win by half a length. Owner, Emma Banks was away on business but her parents, Richard and Susan Banks were there to cheer Arigato home. We are all delighted to have this tough and popular member of the string back in the winners enclosure and hope the handicapper isn’t too unkind when the new handicap marks are published next week.
Today at Bath, No Thanks broke his maiden nicely under Callum Shepherd – David Probert was booked to ride but had travel problems and didn’t make it in time. They tracked the leader, and took a narrow advantage over two furlongs out, going clear over a furlong out and stayed on gamely to win by a length. Delighted to have a winner for owners Patrick Dalby and Richard Schuster and think he can win again for them.
