HIMALAYAN Queen secured her second win of 2016 when taking a 6f handicap at Chelmsford on Wednesday afternoon.
The daughter of Poet’s Voice was a winner at Yarmouth in the summer and returned to the winner’s circle with a convincing success under Sophie Killoran. Sophie settled Himalayan Queen in the midfield and she travelled smoothly. She picked up well up the home straight to win going away by half a length.
William said: “Sophie has given her a good ride and she has won nicely. She struggles up in grade but it’s great to get another win next to her name.”
This afternoon, Port Paradise lines up in a 1m2f handicap at Lingfield (4.50pm) while on Saturday Spinnaker Bay tackles the 6f maiden at Chelmsford.
Spinnaker Bay, owned by Kevin Hickman, has been placed on three of her four starts to date and looks to have a good chance of securing that elusive first success.
