ARCADIAN Sea gained a first career win when taking a ten-furlong handicap at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.
The son of Born To Sea has been running well of late and deserved this breakthrough success. He was given a good ride by Josephine Gordon who rode a patient race aboard the 5/2 favourite. Having settled her mount towards the rear, Josephine made good progress to take the lead with just over a furlong to run.
She had a willing partner and Arcadian Sea ran on strongly to win by a length and a half.
William said: “I am thrilled to get a win next to his name and delighted for all members of the Arcadian Sea partnership – frustrating for one of them, Steve Herbert, to traffic problems on the way to Chelmsford and had to turn back!. Arcadian Sea has been running well and it has gone right for him today. I think he can be competitive in a similar race again.”
Looking ahead, Slow To Hand holds an entry in a ten-furlong handicap at Lingfield on Tuesday.
