SHOGUN PRINCE and Mumbleswerve have both hit the bulls-eye in the last week but there have been a host of other encouraging performances from the Phantom House string.

The Craven and Newbury's spring two-dayer - both of which are always hot meetings - saw trainer William Jarvis' runners acquit themselves well.

El Duende and Never Ending Tale (fifth) both shaped with promise, while at Newbury Gravitation (fifth) and Longevity (fourth) showed that maidens should fall their way in the future.

Also, Megawatt came ever so close to getting off the mark when beaten a neck in a Folkestone maiden on Tuesday.

William said: “It has been a busy week and generally, the horses are running well. We've got a quiet few days before Smokey Storm has his second race, heading to Brighton on Sunday where I hope

El Duende - encouraging performance

he can get off the mark.

“Monday is likely to see us saddle several runners. At Yarmouth, Admiral Dundas (mile handicap) and Natural Action (1m 4f handicap) are due to appear, while Just Two Numbers is scheduled to have his first run of the year at Windsor (1m2f handicap).

“Longevity has been entered in a maiden at Lingfield on Monday but I have yet to make up my mind whether he'll be declared.”
