ORIENTAL Scot will make his seasonal reappearance in the Spring Mile at Doncaster on Saturday.
Dr Jim Walker’s son of Selkirk had a fruitful 2010 campaign, winning twice at Nottingham and Thirsk.
Trainer William Jarvis has been delighted with his progress over the winter and is hopeful of a big effort from the four-year-old.
He said: “Oriental Scot will be our first runner of the turf season. He has done very well over the winter months and he seems pretty fit for his first run of the year.
“It is a very hot race but because of his rating we don’t have many options. I am hopeful he can get in the money.
“I was hesitant about running in the race as it fails to meet the requirements of the tariff by £6,000 but the only other race for him in April is the Spring Cup at Newbury which is worth £10,000 less.”
With many of the horses in fast work now the team are looking forward to the return of Rock A Doodle Do, Heatherbird and Quschchi is early April.
