KATY’S Secret and Diverting completed a memorable double for Phantom House at Yarmouth on Tuesday evening.
Katy’s Secret, winner of the mile handicap, was given a good ride by Kieren Fallon who produced the 3/1 favourite right on the line to win by a head.
It was a third career win for the daughter of Mind Games who runs in the colours of William’s aunt, Sally Hall.
William said: “Kieren gave her a great ride and hopefully she won’t be hammered by the handicapper. I’m delighted for my aunt as she owns and bred this filly.”
Half an hour it was the turn of Diverting who competed back-to-back wins at the seaside track with minimal fuss in the 1m1f handicap.
Having settled her off the pace jockey Lee Newman moved up to join the leaders 2f from home and his mount sprinted clear to win by seven lengths.
William added: “I think the winning distance was exaggerated as they went very hard up front but she still was very impressive. She’ll be getting another entry this week and we’ll look to run her with a 6lb penalty.” |
