COTTON Mill is raised in grade for a conditions race at Newmarket this Friday night.
The Ali Saeed-owned son of Tiger Hill was an impressive winner of a 1m 2f maiden at the July Festival.
Now the colt will bid for a course and distance repeat but it is sure to be a tough task with stakes winner Chabal and John Smith’s Cup hero Wigmore Hall among those in opposition.
Trainer William Jarvis said: “I thought the handicapper was very harsh in giving him a rating of 96 and he has got it all to do on Friday night.
“There is a lack of options for him in the programme book and we just want to see him run another nice race.”
Phantom House has two other runners on Friday with Jamie Bowditch’s Brigadoon tackling a 1m 2f handicap at Lingfield and partnership horse Stoical stepped up to 1m 6f for a handicap at the same venue.
William assessed: “If Brigadoon can repeat his home work I can see him being competitive on his return from a lay-off.
“Stoical has not been an easy horse to train but Lee Vickers, one of the few jockeys brave enough to volunteer to ride him, retains his association with him and I hope he can be rewarded.”
The day before  Al Jaadl will be sent in search of a first career victory at Brighton where she’ll have a 7f handicap on her agenda.
William said: “I feel she has been a little disappointing so far this season and I was certain she would have lost her maiden tag by now. However, let us hope that she can get off the mark on Thursday.”
