BRIGADOON continued the good form of the Phantom House string with a victory in a mile and a quarter handicap at Pontefract on Monday afternoon.
The son of Compton Place was sent off a 12/1 shot but duly obliged under Lee Newman showing a likable attitude.
Newman always had his mount to the fore and kicked off the final turn to challenge the leaders up the straight before getting up inside the final furlong to win by three quarters of a length.
William said: “It was great to see Brigadoon gain a first career win at Pontefract yesterday. Lee Newman gave him a good ride and he is now four wins from six rides for the stable.
“It was also nice to see Jamie Bowditch’s colours back in the winners’ enclosure.”
