TRANSFORMER made his second start for William a winning one at Lingfield on January 22.
The Phantom House team can seemingly do no wrong at present and the five-year-old gave the yard a second win in two days following Aquilifer's victory at the Surrey track.
William has now had 12 runners on the Flat in 2011, winning four, finishing second three times, third on three occasions and fourth twice.
In other words, no Phantom House runner has finished worse than fourth so far this year. It really has been a great start to the new campaign.
Transformer, second a week earlier over 1m 2f, was stepped up two furlongs for his latest race. The extended trip did the trick.
Jockey Jim Crowley had him tracking the early leaders and then brought him easily into the fray not long after turning for home.
Jarvis' charge moved smoothly through on the inner to lead over 1f out and he was well in control through the closing strides, eventually winning by a length.
Transformer may take his chance again in a 1m 4f handicap at Kempton on Wednesday if he comes out of Saturday's race ok. He will shortly return to owner Michael Banks' stable to resume his other job leading the very promising hurdler Clerk's Choice.
