PHANTOM HOUSE registered an incredible sixth winner on the trot when Head First ran away with an extended mile handicap at Wolverhampton on January 25..
In-form trainer William Jarvis can do no wrong at present with this latest success making it six of the best since January 12.
What a turnaround from the tough times of last summer when the yard was under a cloud. Even after the string returned to full health it seemed that luck continued to elude Phantom House as the seconds and thirds mounted up while winners remained elusive.
How things can turn around! All-weather heroes - and heroines in Head First's case(!) - such as Cuthbert, Rock A Doodle Doo and Admiral Cochrane have put the smile back on William's face (thank goodness!) and the world is surely a better place.
Head First has now notched two triumphs over the winter and this latest one was achieved in rattling good style.
Jockey David Probert brought her from out the back with a rare old charge that saw her zip past rivals to lead entering the final furlong before recording a two-length win.
Now how about William and co delivering a 'magnificent seven' so the writer can fit another dreadful pun in the title line?!
