TRAINER William Jarvis expressed his delight this morning at seeing Rock A Doodle Doo complete his hat-trick at Lingfield yesterday.

The son of Oratorio has now won at Lingfield twice and at Wolverhampton and William is hopeful that he can transfer this form to the grass.

He said: “I was delighted to see him win yesterday as it is not easy to win three on the bounce. He is progressing well and I hope the handicapper isn’t too hard on him as he only won by a neck and I’d hope he can win again.

“There are not many races left for him on the all-weather now so we’ll probably wait for the turf where I hope he will be equally as effective.”

In other news William is thrilled that the weather in Newmarket has finally begun to feel more spring like and he can begin to get some proper work into his string.

He added: “The weather has at last got a bit milder so we have been using the grass canters and the horses are already looking better.”

On the runners front things remain on the quiet side with only Private Equity and Admiral Cochrane coming under consideration for races next week.

The former, a dual winner by Haafhd, is entered in a 1m5f handicap at Wolverhampton on Wednesday while the latter will be bidding for a three-timer if he lines up in the 7f handicap on the same card.

William said of the pair: “Both seem in good form and have performed with credit over the winter. I hope they can both go close.”
