THIS morning trainer William Jarvis reflected on what has been both a promising but slightly unlucky week for his runners.

It was great to see Admiral Dundas bounce back to winning ways at Hamilton on Sunday and William is hopeful that he can score again before the season’s end.

William said: “It was very refreshing to see many of our runners come back in to form.

“Admiral Dundas’s win was a great boost- he has come out of his race well and could run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton next Thursday.

“I think it wouldn’t be totally unreasonable to say that we could have ended up with four winners last week but in the end only had one.

“Musigny came from a long way back to finish second at Yarmouth and Clerk’s Choice was also unlucky when getting no run at Yarmouth. I look forward to stepping the latter up to a mile and a half on his next start.

“Kerchek looks to be a winner waiting to happen when finishing his race well to take second in his maiden at Newmarket.”

William is hopeful that Petougg can continue the stable’s good form when he contests a 6f maiden at Haydock tomorrow.

Having won on debut over course and distance, the son of Tobougg then disappointed at Nottingham on his last start.

He added: “Nothing really came up after his below-par run at Nottingham but he has been going well in his home work since so we are hopeful of a better effort.”

Connections of In The Mood are looking forward to her running at Salisbury next Wednesday.

“She has improved for her belated reappearance and hopefully she can get her head in front with her New Zealand owners Kevin and Jo Hickman there” said William.

Other runners include Papryian at Nottingham and Cuthbert at either Brighton or Southwell.
