WILLIAM, along with every racing fan in the country, is eagerly awaiting the year’s Flat feature, Royal Ascot, which kicks off next Tuesday.
Here are his thoughts for the week:
“I am really looking forward to next week. The racing is great and every race is hugely competitive.
“Tuesday is a wonderful day of racing with three Group 1s. I can’t wait to see the French super-mare Goldikova take on Richard Hannon’s Canford Cliffs. I think it will be tight but can see Goldikova just having the edge.
“I can’t look further than Frankel in the St James’s Palace. It’s boring I know but I hope he can confirm that he is the superstar we all believe him to be.
“So You Think also looks like an outstanding racehorse and he will hard to beat in the Prince of Wales’s. He faces his toughest task to date but I expect him to be too good.
“With last year’s winner Rite of Passage out on the Gold Cup it really does look very open. I have big doubts over Fame And Glory’s stamina over two and a half miles and think that Duncan for John Gosden could be a good alternative.”
William’s thoughts on Friday and Saturday’s racing along with his thoughts on the Phantom House raiders, Qushchi and Rock A Doodle Doo, will be out in a few days time.
