TRAINER William Jarvis this morning reflected on the encouraging run of Papyrian, who was third in a maiden at Yarmouth on Monday.
The son of Oasis Dream, who was having only his second start, still showed signs of greenness but stayed on well to be third behind a highly regarded colt from the John Gosden yard.
Jarvis reported that Lady Howard de Walden’s colt had come out of the race well and will soon be looking for an opportunity to break his maiden tag.
He said: “I was very pleased with Papyrian at Yarmouth. He was still very green but when the penny finally dropped he ran on well.
“He has returned from the race in good-order so I hope it won’t be too long until he’s off the mark”
Being a brother to champion Grand Lodge he definitely looks like a useful prospect for his connections this season.
