ORIENTAL Scot will also be in action at the weekend when he is likely to line up in a mile handicap at Thirsk on Saturday.

Dr Jim Walker’s four-year-old is still searching for his first win of 2011 but was a winner over course and distance last year.

William said: “Ideally Oriental Scot could still do with some help from the handicapper but he is at least down to his last winning mark.

“He has been in good form at home and has good form on the track having won their as a three-year-old.”

Qushchi is likely to contest a 1m4f handicap at Doncaster on Saturday.

The daughter of Encosta de Lago didn’t stay the two miles when last seen in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and should be suited by the drop back in trip.

William said: “We have freshened Qushchi up since Royal Ascot and she has been pleasing me at home.

“She obviously didn’t stay two miles last time so hopefully she can regain her progressive profile over a mile and a half.

“If she reproduces the form which saw her finish third to Brown Panther at Haydock then she will be very hard to beat.”
