WILLIAM’S sole runner of the weekend is likely to be Oriental Scot in the Thirsk Hunt Cup on Saturday.

Dr Jim Walker’s son of Selkirk was last seen finishing seventh in the Spring Mile but he was drawn on the wrong side that day and he ran considerably better than the form figure suggests.

Oriental Scot, a dual winner, has won at the Yorkshire track before and has been pleasing his trainer in the build up to the race.

William said: “This race has been the plan since Doncaster where he was unlucky but still ran well.

“He has been working well and we are hopeful that, if he gets a good draw, that he can be very competitive.”
