TRAINER William Jarvis will be hoping for some encouraging performances from the handful of runners he sends out over the next few days.
Tonight Mega Watt makes his seasonal reappearance in the 1m2f handicap at Newmarket.
This consistent son of Acclamation is bottom weight with only 8st 4lb and has inform jockey William Buick in the plate..
Jarvis said: “Mega Watt makes his reappearance at Newmarket tonight. He has little weight to carry so I hope he can run creditably and be in the first three.”
Archie Rice, a Newmarket maiden winner last year, makes his eagerly awaited reappearance at Newmarket on Friday in a 6f handicap.
Jarvis added: “We are looking forward to running Archie Rice. He ran well in the Cornwallis Stakes last back-end meaning that he has a rating of 95 and has to carry top weight.
“His work has been encouraging so I hope he is up to the task.”
On the same card Royal Willy will need all the luck when he lines up in a 20 runner handicap.
Jarvis also intends to run his first two-year old of the campaign with Guesswork who is an intended runner at Newbury on Friday.
He said: “Guesswork is set to be our first two-year old runner. She is a speedy filly by Rock of Gibraltar from a family I know very well.
“It is a tough task first time but I am hopeful she will run with credit.”
