LOKI’S Revenge secured a third win this season with an impressive performance at Kempton on December 16.
It was no less than the hardy Kyllachy colt deserved as he stayed on strongly to score by a length and a quarter.
Owner Dr Jim Walker’s charge has been a real star for connections, paying his way throughout a long juvenile campaign.
He has had 11 races, making the frame on seven occasions in those familiar pale green silks.
The strong early pace suited trainer Loki, although he almost looked as if the honest gallop was hot enough through the middle section of the 6f nursery.
But as those that raced on the front end began to find the petrol gauge running low, Loki’s Revenge came into his own.
In mid-division at the two-pole, he was clearly travelling better than those in front of him.
Jockey Steve Drowne asked him to surge between horses and he did so, willingly, to take over at the furlong-marker.
Forty Proof tried to challenge late on, but Loki’s Revenge had all the moves covered and hit the line in a manner that suggested he’ll stay a further furlong.
Great result for the Phantom House team - fingers crossed for Private Equity at Wolves in the last on Dec 17!
