KERCHAK has been declared to contest a 1m2f handicap at Epsom this evening.

The son of Royal Academy was the impressive winner of a handicap at Goodwood on his last start and connections are hoping he can be competitive again tonight.

William said: “It was encouraging to see him win at Goodwood a fortnight ago and we are hoping for a repeat of that tonight.

“It looks a competitive race with the obvious danger being Mark Johnston’s Jutland.”

In other news William was pleased with the run of Profligate, who was second in a maiden at Windsor last Sunday.

He said: “She ran a really good race it was just a shame she couldn’t get her head in front. She has come out of the race well and hopefully can win next time.”

“I am very much looking forward the July Week coming up here in Newmarket. We will be pretty quiet on the runners front but Newmarket always puts on a good show and the July Cup looks to be hotting up.  I fully expect Starspangledbanner to follow up on his impressive Royal Ascot win..”
