ALL in the racing business were thrilled to see that 14 times Champion Jump jockey AP McCoy finally laid his Aintree ghost to rest with a stunning victory on board Don’t Push It in the Grand National on Saturday.
Trainer William Jarvis said: “It was wonderful to see Tony McCoy win the Grand National.
“He really is an unbelievable jockey and it would be very nice to think that the racing industry could get behind him to help him gain the recognition he deserves at the Sports Personality of the Year. It is not too often that somebody is number one in their chosen sport for 15 years like he has been.”
Back on the flat, William was pleased with his charge Katy’s Secret who finished third in a maiden at Lingfield on Saturday,
He added: “Katy’s Secret ran a nice race giving Mary-Ann Parkin her first ride.
“She did well and it was a great thrill for her. She was still on cloud nine when she came back on Saturday night.”
