KAY GEE BE has been given the green light by trainer William Jarvis to contest the Victoria Cup at Ascot on Saturday.
The son of Fasliyev, now six, ran very well on his seasonal bow to finish third in a competitive handicap at Kempton.
Saturday’s assignment is tougher still but Kay Gee Be has run well in heritage handicaps before and deserves to get his head in front.
William said: “I am really looking forward to running Kay Gee Be at Ascot. He ran very well first time out but he’s been hard to win with as because he’s so consistent he never gets any help from the handicapper.
“It is one of the most competitive handicaps of the year but he’s been working really well and I am very pleased with him. Hayley Turner will ride.”
William is hoping that Brigadoon can get off the mark at Windsor on Monday night.
He said of the son of Compton Place: “We are stepping him up to a mile and a quarter and I think he’ll run very well.”
