KAY Gee Be has been declared by trainer William Jarvis to contest a mile handicap at Newcastle this afternoon.

The six-year-old was third in the same event last year and William is hopeful that he can put up another bold show.

William said: “He ran very well in the race last year and he seems on good terms with himself.

“The handicapper has relented a little and I hope he can run a good race as he deserves to get his head in front.”

A field of eight will face the starter and Kay Gee Be will be partnered by Joe Fanning.

Another inmate from Phantom House heading up north is Stoical, who runs in a maiden at Hamilton this evening.

William said of the son of Galileo: “He needs the racecourse experience and hopefully he will behave better than he did at Sandown.”

William is looking forward to saddling Aquilifer at Windsor on Saturday.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor is sure to come on for the run but William feels that he his ready to make his debut.

On Sunday Profilagte is a likely runner in a mile fillies maiden at Windsor.

Her trainer said: “She didn’t stay a mile and a quarter last time out so she should be suited by the drop back to a mile.”
