TRAINER William Jarvis this morning confirmed that consistent handicapper; Kay Gee Be is next to be seen in action in the valuable Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar on Monday.
The five-year old was last seen finishing a promising third behind Confront in a competitive handicap at the Guineas Meeting. Connections will be hoping that he has come on from that run and can challenge for the honours again.
Jarvis said: “We are very much looking forward to running Kay Gee Be on Monday at Redcar. Obviously it will be a very competitive race but he has come out of his Newmarket run very well and I am hopeful for a big run.”
Today Jarvis sends out Grey Granite in the 1m2f maiden at Haydock. Joe Fanning, who has an impressive record for Jarvis, takes the ride.
Jarvis added: “Thankfully they have had quite a bit of rain and the ground is now soft. He came out of his race at Thirsk well but the ground was too quick for him there. I am hoping that he can get his head in front.”
Tomorrow the Dr Jim Walker-owned Wasp lines up in a 1m2f handicap at Newmarket.
“The race has cut up a bit and there are now only 7 runners. We are experimenting with 1m2f but we’re hopeful he can cope with this step-up in trip and run a nice race.”
