IT is one of the busiest weeks of the year in Newmarket this week with the July Festival and the Horses in Training sale taking place.
William is planning to send out a number of runners from his Phantom House base and he is hopeful that one or two of them can end up in the winners’ enclosure.
Today, Loki’s Revenge looks to have a leading chance in 5f maiden at Southwell.
The son of Kyllachy has been placed in his two previous racecourse outings and his trainer looks to have found the ideal opportunity for him to open his account.
William said: “I have slight reservations about the surface at Southwell as some horses do not act on it but Loki’s Revenge would benefit from a bit of cut in the ground and this looks like a good opportunity for him.”
Also this evening, Stoical lines up in a 1m4f maiden at Pontefract.
William added on his chances: “I’m hoping the step up in trip will improve his performance.”
Tomorrow William will saddle Cotton Mill in the 1m2f maiden at the July Meeting.
He said: “It is only his second start and he still learning but I have always thought he is a nice horse who could make into a nice handicapper in time.”
Looking towards the end of the week William may run Kay Gee Be at Ascot on Friday.
