IT has been a slightly frustrating ten days for trainer William Jarvis and his team with some horses disappointing on the racecourse and nothing coming to light as to why.
However, Jarvis remains upbeat and is hopeful that Indian Tonic can return the stable to winning ways when she contests a mile maiden at Newmarket on Friday.
The daughter of Tiger Hill has not been seen since December but has been pleasing her trainer in her home work.
He said: “She has been slow to come to hand but is working nicely. We are looking forward to seeing how she goes; it’s good to get her back on the track.”
Jarvis is likely to be double handed in that event with Head First also a likely contender.
Jarvis added of the daughter of Dansili: “We are hoping that she behaves in the starting stalls this time.
“We have the assistance of the great horse-whisperer ‘Yarmy’ so I’m hopeful that we’ll have no problems.”
Cuthbert, who was a promising second at Epsom last week, is a possible for a maiden at Lingfield on Saturday evening.
Jarvis said: “He ran very well at Epsom and if he could have grabbed the rail he may have been closer.
“He is due to take his chance at Lingfield and Kirsty Milczarek will ride him again.”
