IT is set to be a quiet week on the runners front but the Phantom House team do have high hopes that Heatherbird can gain a first career success on Wednesday.
The daughter of Shamardal lines up in a 1m2f maiden at Folkestone and based on her close defeat in a fillies’ handicap at Sandown last time out she should be hard to beat.
William said: “I am very hopeful that Heatherbird can break her maiden. She bumped into a well handicapped horse last time and seems to be settling better in her races. This looks a good opportunity for her.”
William is also looking for the right race for Silke Top to get off the mark in. The daughter of Librettist ran in competitive maiden at Newmarket first time before stepping up on that to finish fourth at Windsor when last seen in action.
Her trainer said: “The Newmarket race she ran in first time has thrown up lots of winners and she showed improvement next time. Hopefully she can step up again and it won't be long before she gets her head in front.”
Qushchi went up 3lb in the handicap for her latest win at Doncaster and William is also searching the programme book for a suitable race for her.
He said: “She is now rated 88 which I still feel is a winnable mark for her. However, there are not many 0-90 fillies’ handicaps so we just have to wait for the right race.”
Impressive HQ maiden winner Besito has come out of her race well and William is looking forward to stepping her up in grade next time.
He added: “She seems in good form. We shall see how she improves at home before we decide whether to go for a Novice/ Conditions race or for a Listed contest such as the Dick Poole Stakes.”
