WILLIAM confirmed this morning that Grey Granite is a likely runner in a 1m6f handicap at Sandown on Saturday.

Dr Jim Walker’s colt made an encouraging return to action when fourth at Windsor last month following nearly a year off the track.

He should be sharper for that outing and William is hoping for a big run from him.

He said: “If we get the rain that is forecast then Grey Granite will run at Sandown.

“He doesn’t need it soft he just needs to get his toe in and the jar to be taken out.

“He worked very well on the Limekilns this morning and I hope he will run well.”

Other runners from Phantom House at the weekend are Profligate and Telescopic who are both entered in maiden races.

In other news William was delighted that Newmarket landed both the Derby and the Oaks at the weekend with Workforce and Snow Fairy.

He added: “I was seriously impressed with Workforce’s performance in the Derby. I was lucky enough to be there as a guest of sponsors’ Investec and I thought they did a very good job.”
