IT has been a quiet few days on the runners front at Phantom House but William has been keeping his string ticking over and is hoping that some rain comes soon.

Looking towards the end of this week Monaco Dream has been given the green light to contest a 1m2f Selling race at Ripon on Saturday.

William said of the daughter of Hawk Wing: “This looks like a good winning opportunity for her and Joe Fanning takes the ride.”

The Mumbo may also be in action on Saturday. She is under consideration for a Seller at Wolverhampton.

Dr Jim’s familiar bright colours may be carried by Oriental Scot on in a Classified race at Nottingham on Tuesday.  Kilkenny Bay is also a possible runner at Lingfield on Tuesday.

Dr Jim Walker’s Grey Granite had to be withdrawn due to the fast ground at Newbury on Saturday and William is hoping that the ground is good at Doncaster next Friday so that the strapping son of Dalakhani can make his seasonal bow.

He said: “Grey Granite is working well at home but he is very ground dependent and we would not want to run at Doncaster unless the rain comes.”

William was thrilled to buy a nice two-year old colt by Kyllachy for Dr Jim Walker at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-up sales for 52,000 guineas.

William said: “He breezed very nicely and although horses were difficult to buy I think we picked a nice colt.”
