THIS FRIDAY will see Lady Howard de Walden visiting Phantom House to run the rule over her horses, including stakes star Gravitation.
Lady Howard has been connected to the yard since William took out his training licence and her visits to the yard are always greatly welcomed.
William is looking forward to showing her last year’s Group 3 Lily Langtry winner who has done very well for her winter break.
The trainer said: “I am very pleased with Gravitation - I think she has got stronger since last season. There are a host of early-season options for her but my thoughts are that she will be best served by us starting her back at a mile and a half.”
Lady Howard also has the once-raced Papyrian out of La Papagena at Phantom House as well as new recruit Perse.
This filly, by Rock Of Gibraltar, is the first foal out of La Persiana, who was a stakes winner for William and Lady Howard.
On to other matters and it won’t be long before William steps several of his string up into faster work. They’ve been doing stronger canters for a couple of weeks now and are just beginning to up the ante.
He added: “It depends on the weather to some degree, but we’ll soon be heading up to the Al Bahathri or over to Racecourse Side, where the turf gallops open on March 13.
“We don’t really need another cold snap as the horses are beginning to look well and, touch wood, the majority of them are healthy.”
