ALTHOUGH the turf flat season is officially over for 2009 the William Jarvis team are still busy with a number on runners on the all-weather.
Today William is hoping that either Admiral Cochrane or Private Equity can get their head in front.
The Dr Jim Walker-owned Admiral Cochrane lines up in a 6f Nursery handicap at Southwell.
The son of Noverre was third at Kempton last time out and if he repeats that sort of form he should take all the beating.
William said: “I hope that he goes on the surface but he ran well last time out and seems in good form.
“It is not the strongest of races so he should have every chance.”
Private Equity has been declared for a 1m4f handicap at Kempton this evening.
The daughter of Haafhd has improved with every run and William hopes he has found the perfect opportunity for her to get off the mark.
He said: “She is only rated 47 in the handicap so she’s at the bottom of the weights in a very weak race. I hope she can break her maiden.”
Tomorrow Brigadoon takes his place in the line up of a 7f maiden at Southwell.
William said of the son of Compton Place: “He ran a very promising race at Newmarket first time out and I hope he can improve from that encouraging start.
“The race has cut up and there are only four runners but I am slightly worried about the likely favourite of Tom Dascombe’s, Vegas Palace."
Looking towards the weekend West Kirk is a possible for a mile maiden at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.
William said: “ The initial entries look quite strong but he should come on for his belated season reappearance at Yarmouth. Rob Havlin take the ride.”
