BESITO broke her maiden in style this afternoon when romping up over 6f at Newmarket.

The daughter of Kodiac made every yard of the running under a perfectly judged front running ride by Kieren Fallon.

Fallon stuck to the stand’s rail on the 4/1 shot and she had her rivals, including the odds on favourite Appointee, off the bridle over half a mile from home.

From that point on victory was never in doubt and Besito galloped strongly to the line to record a three and a half length victory.

William said: “She’s a good filly – I think she’s quite smart and we’ve always liked her. She ran in a hot race at Leicester first time and probably bumped into one last time at Ascot.

“Interestingly a lot of the jockeys said they felt as if they were going flat out but Kieren said Besito felt as if she was only doing a half speed.

“She’s in the Cheveley Park but we’re a million miles away from that at this stage but she’s going the right way.

It wasn’t necessarily the plan to make the running but Kieren’s a master so we leave it to him.  It was a shame owner Tony Foster wasn't able to see his filly win but he was well represented by his mother.  An added positive was that Besito picked up a £10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus "
