| TRAINER William Jarvis was pleased to see some of his horses back in action this weekend and was particularly happy with the effort of Kay Gee Be who was third in the 1m1f Heritage Handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.
The gelding by Fasliyev was having his first run since November and despite racing keenly in the early stages of the race stayed on well to finish third.
Jarvis reflected: “It was nice to have a few runners this weekend and although we didn’t have any winners I was delighted with Kay Gee Be.
“He ran an encouraging race and I hope he can win a nice handicap for his enthusiastic owners this season.”
Jarvis also ran Grey Granite, Admiral Dundas and Wasp in the colours of Dr Jim Walker who was over on a visit from Hong Kong .
He added: “We had the pleasure of seeing Jim Walker for the weekend but unfortunately his three runners couldn’t maintain our record of having a winner for him every time he comes over.”
Tomorrow Jarvis runs Monaco Dream in a maiden at Goodwood. She was last seen finishing third on her debut at Lingfield in February and connections will be hoping she can step up on that encouraging first run.
He said: “Monaco Dream performed well on her debut at Lingfield in February and although she’ll improve again for the run she has been working nicely and I hope she runs well.”
